Stay Hydrated This Winter with SRC
With the cold weather creeping in, the season of heaters and dry air begins. As does the season of dry skin. Not only is the cold air from outside causing moisture to evaporate from your skin quicker, but things like dry indoor air and those nice long warm showers cause dry skin as well. Luckily, we have quite a few products to help with dry winter skin!
For dry skin on legs and arm, I love the Lo & Behold body butter! With powerful ingredients for moisture like mango butter and cocoa butter, it easily treats and heals flaky, dry skin. Every winter I go through a big container of the lovely scented Lavender and Coconut Body Butter that Lo & Behold has made special for the spa! It takes me from looking like a lizard to having baby soft skin. I also switch from harsher soaps during the colder months, and instead use out Whispering Willow soaps. I really love the Oat Milk and Lavender soap, because of the soothing oat milk, and the lovely lavender scent!
For dry, cracked hands and feet, grab another Lo & Behold product! For angry feet I love Lo & Behold’s Eucalyptus and Tea Tree hand and foot salve. The coconut oil and shea butter help with intense moisture, while the beeswax helps lock in moisture and antimicrobial tea tree helps keep feet smelling fresh! For dry cracked hands, I tend to keep their Lemon & Hand Salve around. Great for hands that tend to be in and out of water, it has the same shea butter, coconut oil and beeswax, but instead it has a zesty and spicy scent of citrus, cardamom, and cloves. Great for a pick-me-up in the sad winter weather.
As for dry skin on the face, I checked with Angela, an esthetician at the spa, to see what she recommended! She said that her favorite line for dry winter skin is the Vital C line by Image! Angela said that the Vital C Cleanser, AC&E Serum, and Repair Creme really helps with recovering moisture that is lost during the winter months, and is super nourishing and soothing for the skin, and keeps your skin glowing for the holidays. Then, add in Cosmedix Emulsion for intense hydration before bed. She recommends following it up with Lumi Crystal lip hydrator by Cosmedix. This powerful lip serum has brassica alba sprout extract, which help with moisture and plumps up the lips a little too!
Don’t forget H2O! The key to all these great products is locking in moisture. The best way to stay hydrated is to aim for 1 gallon of water intake daily.
