Autumn Activities at Spa Retreat
What a beautiful Autumn we have had here at Spa Retreat! We’ve enjoyed the gorgeous changing of seasons outside, and the busy season we have had in the spa. As everyone is gearing up for the holidays, our schedule is filling with a variety of guests. We’ve enjoyed our regulars, our visitors just in the area for a short time, the groups celebrating an engagement, birthday, wedding, or new baby, and many new faces that we now consider part of the SRC family. In our off time, we’ve had some fun activities take place as well. We’d like to share our Fall fun with you all here…
Fun & new things around the spa!
All in one morning, our holiday Paddywax candle order arrived, as well as our new Ashiatsu-approved massage table. Try out Ashiatsu next time you’re in for a massage with Matt – mention our blog and add an Ashi ReTreat for free!
We stopped in to Preston Flowers and found the absolute perfect match for our front desk! With highlights of purple, green, and gold shimmers, we couldn’t have asked for a more suitable Spa plant.
As we began our search for the perfect skincare line to compliment our ahhh-mazing Shira products, we decided to try some new masks and protocols. Sally & I were the lucky test subjects, and we are so excited to announce our new selection next week.
All things pumpkin! We may have gone a little overboard with pumpkin this fall. In addition to our pumpkin peel & pumpkin spice pedi, we had some locally grown pumpkins throughout the spa. Olivia and I felt this pumpkin was looking a little dull, so we used our Shira Organics products to brighten it up. If you visited us during October, you may have noticed this little pumpkin at the front desk, shining bright after Olivia’s expert mini facial.
Out & About
Among other activities we didn’t capture with our smart phones, we had a lot of fun activities around the Triangle this Fall.
We had the privilege of attending the employee health fair at Raleigh Orthopedic Clinic, providing chair massages, Ashiatsu, hand treatments, and product demonstrations. This was a very fun event and we thoroughly enjoyed giving back to the hard-working staff, and plan to be there again next year. If you’d like us at your next employee appreciation day, email Sally at sshaw-owen@sparetreatnc.com.
When we can step away, Sally and I enjoy attending events with the Cary Chamber of Commerce. This fall we attended a lovely luncheon at Prestonwood Country Club accompanied by one of our favorite SRC guests (thanks, Liz!); as well as a wonderful after-hours event at The Matthews House, which just finished a renovation, and it is absolutely beautiful. Check it out!
We have fun! SRC attended the Jack Johnson concert and brought along our esti Olivia, who won a September concert and enjoyed her well-deserved prize.
Team Building
A smooth sailing ship works best when the team has time to bond and build the best-working environment possible. We take this task to heart, and find ways to have fun as a team. This includes important tasks, such as our skilled Massage Therapists cross-training our Estheticians with great massage techniques to incorporate into facials.
We also had the opportunity to work with the very-talented Max Cohen, owner of Cohen Studios, to add lifestyle pictures and team photos to our website. This was an enjoyable afternoon and we are SO thrilled with the results.
Before the Open House rush, we made time as a team to go to Phillip’s Farm for a team outing! Everyone had a blast! We started out with the corn maze, splitting into 3 groups to race to the end, then fed some adorable goats, enjoyed a hay ride, and launched some pumpkins. It was a great day and we highly recommend it for your fall group outing.
Open House
The biggest highlight of our Autumn Activities was our Open House Trick or ReTreat event! We had a wonderful evening celebrating all things fall with our staff, vendors, and guests. In attendance: Susie Silver Art, Lo & Behold Natural Body Care, Holistic Hair, Pure & Light Mineral Makeup, as well as raffle prizes provided by StudioVibe and Preston Flowers. In addition to delicious food, drinks, and tons of activities, the most fun all night was spending time with our valued guests that have quickly become part of the Spa Retreat family. If you didn’t have the time to stop in during our open house and you’d like to meet us, feel free to stop by anytime for a tour.
Check back with us soon for more updates as we continue to celebrate all things spa at SRC!
