What does it take to choose the best products for spa services and retail? Well, to be honest, it has probably been one of the most enjoyable parts of opening a brand new business.  Luxury skin care, organic body care, all natural mineral makeup, handmade soaps and sweet smelling candles.  Yes, the task has been daunting, but Spa Retreat is here for you, and we have sorted through all of the lotions and potions to find the perfect blend of green luxury.

As part of Spa Retreat’s philosophy to support community, it has been vital to find NC based products to offer our guests.  So far we have enjoyed meeting local craftspeople, with their passion mirroring our own. Whispering Willow Soap Company, based in Lincolnton, NC is owned and operated by a husband and wife team.  Their products range from bar soap to linen sprays, to lavender eye pillows; which we will place upon your tired eyes during every massage.

Lo & Behold is a Durham based company, owned and operated by the very lovely, Lizzie.  Her products are locally sourced, and organic and beautiful.  Not only will you be able to purchase her creamy body butters and luxurious scrubs, but you will get to enjoy them during one of our body treatments.  We are proud to be the first area spa to offer Lo & Behold!

Finding a makeup line was probably the most difficult part of the process.  With Pure and Light Minerals, out of Tobaccoville, NC, we not only found makeup we love, but makeup that is all natural and local!  Kim, the founder and makeup magician composes every makeup formula by hand.  Her colors are customizable and her foundations have recently been developed to use with an airbrush.

We took a short drive to Tennessee to find Paddywax Candle Company.  Their diversity in scents and containers was unmatched.  We can’t wait to repurpose the beautiful candle holders into succulent vases.  

When it came down to finding skin care that was natural, organic, and results oriented, we handed over the responsibility to two phenomenal American companies: Shira Esthetics and Jan Marini Skin Research.  Our facials will feature both product lines to deliver the best results for each guest.  You will leave Spa Retreat glowing and be able to benefit from a customized at-home skin care regimen.
